I actually had a bright thought (for once!) and I googled the molecular weight of tartaric and made up a 0.1M solution.
It was for investigating science.......just reactions

Hi Merilyn,

Yes, the little bit of research I've done seems to suggest most of them are oil free now.
Which is where I was hoping to head!
I just don't want to waste money on a fancier one if the cheaper ones are sufficient for our needs.

I just made up the Traffic Light experiment, to test out before the teacher does it on Friday with the students, and it worked brilliantly!!
We showed it to a couple of year 11 (now 12) students and they were very impressed!

In the DoE we are not labbies, but School Admin Officers, SAO but us working in science have been known as Labbies for years. We are all paid the same as the front office ladies. As I have retired I can not say the amount, but believe it is about $26.90 per hour. Labbie, it is actually $29.90 per h...

I need to make up a 1M solution of Iron (III) Nitrate, I have a recipe for 0.1M 40.4g in 950ml water + 50ml of 2M nitric acid and 0.5M 202g in 900ml water + 100ml of 2M nitric acid my brain hurts this morning....I'm not sure how much nitric acid to put ...
