Re: Part-time technician in North Sydney

It sounds as though you have roughly the same number of classes as we do. I am a full time technician, working a 37.5hr week(supposedly!) and a 41 week year. I have a lab assistant here 37.5 hrs a week and working a 40 week year. We are extremely fortunate and I am extremely grateful for the help, b...

Re: Part-time technician in North Sydney

How many students are in your school, Sassi? Is there some sort of student ratio for working out technician hours in NSW?
I really hope you get your extra hours or some one else to help- it makes such a huge difference [-o< [-o<

vitalograph/spirometer

I am looking to purchase a vitalograph with graphing capability for the Human Biol students. Some of these appear to be way over our budget but I have seen a SpirobankG which is probably at the upper end of what I want to pay but still within consideration. So my problem is this- is it worth spendin...

How many tablets?

I have been given a prac to prepare that uses junket tablets. We only have the powder here. The powder package says that 1/4 tspn will set 500ml milk. I need to convert my prac recipe to powder measures. Does anyone know how many tablets are needed to set 500ml so that I can convert my recipe?

Re: Suitable Shoes

I also couldn't live without my Kumfs! The only ones I have had bleed were a pair of black shoes with a burgundy red dye on the inside bought last year. I have been wearing Kumfs for about 5 years and these were the only ones I had a problem with. Yes they are pricey but if fitted properly you shoul...

Re: bell jars

The tech that was here before me suspended a battery operated door bell in the bell jar and sealed it up. We just need to press the separate control pad and off she goes! No wires and minimal leakage. Still it is not totally silent in a vacuum- but close to it.

Please help- I'm desperate! One of my teachers has asked for the air track to be set up. I am on a steep learning curve with Physics at the moment-Needless to say I've never seen an air track in operation, let alone set one up.
