Re: PLNTS Introduction to Science
There were a few oddities in this course! In one part you have to calculate molarities using the molecular weights, densities etc. It's set up as multiple choice and I was stuck on one particular calculation, it said I was wrong so I googled the answer ( you only get three attempts ) the google answ...

Re: Jury duty
I don't know if it will still be the case this year but I was called up last year. It was very easy to be excused, with Covid doing the rounds. If you felt at all uncomfortable ( due to Covid ) they just asked you to raise your hand and bingo you were excused, didn't have to give a reason at all! As...

Re: PERFORMANCE AND DEVELOPMENT PLANS
The whole thing is absolutely ridiculous!! There is supposed to be a mid year review and I think an end of year review too, needless to say after the initial PDP is put in there has never been a review....of mine anyway! Also, I can't put down daily things we do, it has to be new things, pointless! ...

Re: PDP in DET
AFAIK , if you write it in your PDP , it can't be refused . bigmack, It hasn't necessarily been refused, it's just no one gets around to it.............. I somehow didn't save a copy of my 2020 PDP and I can't for the life of me remember what I put in it! The SAM can't find it either  To be h...

PDP in DET
Hi all, I've searched everywhere and can't find any conversations re: PDP's. (I know there are some here somewhere!!) So forgive me for asking again.........but what do you all, who are employed by the DET, put down for your work and career goals? It's such a waste of time, because if you put down a...

Re: How do I describe what I do?
Thanks Labbie and Merilyn!
When it's all written down it doesn't look like all that much, but as you all know there is a multitude of "things" we do day to day that either isn't worth writing down or doesn't even have a name!!!

Re: How do I describe what I do?
This is obviously an old thread, but...... I have been asked by my SAM (DET) to provide a list of everything I do in science, noting whether it be daily, weekly, term, yearly etc and also approximately how much time is spent doing each task. The principal has asked for this info for all SAOs. It's s...
