If demonstrating the Big Bang Theory....ideally outdoors using a paper punch.....punch holes in about 7 different colours of paper. Put the "confetti" in a balloon.....inflate balloon and tie off.......burst the balloon then have students make observations eg. * does one particular colour ...

p. 67 of "The Laboratory" says to soak in 10% aqueous oxalic acid solution. Works for me but thanks for the lemonade tip....more

Good luck...it sounds tempting to apply but I am only 6 minutes from home to school and enjoy my holidays. ( Must be getting too old to change direction now ! lol )

Does anyone have a spare copy of these books that they would like to sell ? My Chemistry teacher has found them very helpful in the past...he needs them for this year's Yr 11 class...who have no idea what they are doing . I guess they should have paid attention in science classes for the last 4 year...

DIY "micromount" slides are a good and fast way to make slides with everyday specimens, especially for Forensics topic "whodunnit".
I also use for the material fibre prac.
