Our Senior chemistry are doing the Preparing artificial fragrances and flavours experiment.
Has anyone made the salicylic acid or the decanoic acid stock solution.

Any recipes would be great - thanks in advance.

Re: Banned Chemicals

So I don't think it is dark ages stuff. Thanks for the link Mel. It will be quite useful. I've already put it on my favo...

Does anyone out there in lab land know if there is a actual list of banned chemicals in NSW DEC Schools. :?:
I have the old
Appendix H: Chemicals which are banned from government schools
list which is from CSIS, but was wondering if there is any updated list anywhere.

thank you

Re: Eco friendly Baggie Science?

Using a balloon would be the same as a zip lock bag as in non reusable.

We have clear canister that I got off ebay, although not a see through as a zip lock bag you can still see it fizz up.

Hard to be able to cover all areas of reuse, reduce and recycle.

Re: Eco friendly Baggie Science?

You can do this with a photo canister type cartridge and the lid pops off. You don't get to see it expand though.
