Properties of bone

Can anyone help me with the disposal method of the waste products after this Senior Science prac? I have beakers of 2M Nitric acid with disolved calcium from the bone in it, what do I do with it? MSDS says must be disposed of as hazardous waste CSIS says (I think) bring to pH 8-10 and sewer the Risk...

we are doing this too and the set up sheet I was given says two different coloured counters 15:100

I found it all organised and labelled in a box, I have recently inherited a very well organised workplace....feeling lucky

I unplated it and put back in the pressure cooker and when I re plated they are great so I guess it was "undercooked"

Thanks for the replies the first batch looks transluscent but the story goes downhill from there.... maybe I didnt leave it long enough to dissolve properly or overcooked it? still got plenty more to do so it will be trial and error as suggested, I'm in a new school so I hope this isn't a deal break...

I read an article in NEXUS over easter regarding bromine in the food supply and they recommended TAKING 2 drops of Lugols Iodine daily

I didn't think too much about it after the mag was put down but this jogged my memory.....
