Re: "Where is it" database

Thanks Prima . Yeah , that was where I was thinking . Do you know if there is a way to insert a picture into a cell in excel or google sheets ? You can insert a pic but it "sits" on the spread sheet and isn't "locked" to anything ..... I am only an excel beginner....and probably ...

"Where is it" database

Hi all . I'm just about to embark on a total re-arrangement of the Storeroom and Pre-room and want to make a database which records where everything is . This will be a printed copy but also want an electronic version so that staff or more importantly , relieving Labby can quickly find stuff . So op...

Re: Chemical Suppliers

Surprised you guys have had bad experiences with Silform . Fishy , perhaps the issue with your leaking Sulfuric acid was the fault of the courier . We have a great deal of Silform Chemicals and have not noticed any issues with poor quality . Interestingly Silform did offer a special last year and on...

If its not a dangerous goods item then I will add it to any order to Seratta or Science supply Australia etc.

Re: Welcome back 2019

Hope you all had a great break .
I had an amazing time down with our kids which have all moved back to Melbourne . Survived wild storms just before Xmas but still haven't cleaned up all the mess.
Good to be back at work . :whistling2:

Re: Another unknown item

Well here's another . Found a few of these burners under the prep room and in with them was a long copper tube slightly flared at one end and with a bulbous bottom. There is a small spigot brazed to it . It is sealed .....IE there is not a hole through it into the copper pipe. Perhaps its a place to...

Re: Another unknown item

Nah ... sorry Labby ... I did ‘t take a clear photo of the round bit . The round shaft is solid . The hole in the square end only goes down as far as the length of the square section . Its possible they were a fancy taper holder or something but the holes are not full of wax although there are trace...

Found them in the back of the drawer with Tapers and candles etc .
Mistery items.jpg
Oh yeah , they are 4 1/4" long and the square end is exactly 1/2" which would suggest they are pre 1975 ish

Its probably saved to your "Downloads" Folder

If you click on the downloads folder you should see it in there . If you right click on it , you should get a "Send Too" option which should include your thumb drive or what ever .

Re: Distillation Units

In general Stills are not pressure units .Oil extraction stills generally have a Boiler of water , the steam passes through a basket holding the botanicals and the extracted oil comes out the end of either a condenser or bubbles through a container of water , the oils floating to the top for collect...

Metal mesh mats with ceramic centres were banned recently from schools in Britain and New Zealand after they were found to contain tremolite asbestos, even though they had been certified asbestos-free by suppliers.

Does it look like this ? I know it says 1K but its the pic Jaycar had for it . RP3502-500-ohm-linear-b-single-gang-24mm-potentiometerImageMain-515.jpg At 500 ohms you will probably find that you get all the action in the first 10% of the pot and its dark for the remaining 90% of rotation if you are ...

Re: rheostats/potentiometers

The slide rheostats we have around 11 ohms . If connected to a 5watt bulb there will be some slight dimming from one end to the other . If we use them on 35 watt bulbs , they go from full on and dim over the full length of the slider ....they are a good match for this type of demo . A 10k Pot will a...
