Re: intestine demonstration

Thank you for your gross recommendations. The particular teacher has seen that and decided it is too gross for her! I will have a look at home brew or Clarks rubber - thanks.

I have been asked to put together a long clear tube in which a marble can be inserted in one end and pushed along to demonstrate food moving through the intestine. i am having trouble finding clear tubing which is malable enough to push the marble but not so loose that it just drops through. Does an...

Re: Do we have to keep exhaust fan on 24/7

Ours is on a timer which comes on about 7am - til 6pm. However, what do people do about flammable cupboards etc? It is located inside the chemical store but when I open the door to the flammable cupboard I am just about knocked over backwards from the fumes!

Re: Pasco WiFi pH sensors - buffer solution

Prima, could you please tell me about the Pasco probe - is it an independent unit or does it have to connect to a data logger? Could you please tell me where you purchased it from and the price?
Thanks

Re: When does a risk assessment need to be done?

Hi Back to this never ending topic. I have a teacher reviewing our risk assessment policies. Currently the procedure is that the teachers sign off on one RA per topic - so this covers everything they are going to use in that topic which may run over several weeks. She is wanting to know if there is ...

Re: Storing Rocks / Minerals etc

How do you work out what the rocks are if they are just in a large box of random rocks?
Lorikeet - what kind of containers did you use for the sets? Do they have dividers?

face mask with organics?

Does anyone use a face mask or respirator when dealing with organics? I seem to be especially sensitive to them and even with decanting them in the fume cupboard and using gloves, I develop a headache very quickly and yesterday felt quite nauseous. I would like better protection before I use them ag...

Re: Banana plugs

Would love to know where you purchase your preferred variety. If you are not allowed to put the company name up here could you please PM me. Some types definitely fall to pieces very quickly and it wastes a lot of time repairing them.
Thanks

Ohaus balance and an oscilloscope not working

Hi Would any of you people who are clever with repairs be interested in an old Ohaus balance or an oscilloscope? I have been advised that the cost to repair them is not worth it, however I am reluctant to just toss them. If you were interested in fiddling with them to see if you can get them working...

We need 2 extra copies of the Biology in Focus HSC Course (Chidram) for next year only before we go to the next syllabus. Does anyone have any spare they would be willing to sell?

Do you know if that law applies to these.... Physics teachers were hoping to get a speed gun but I noticed that supply companies which used to sell them no longer do, so I had thought they may be no longer legal. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Bushnell-Velocity-Speed-Radar-Gun-Baseball-Softball-Racing-T...
