Divide the ammount of ammonia by 18 and multiply by 10. ie if 190ml of 10% needed for 1M, 190 div by 18 x 10 = 105.5 ml . This is what I would do, and hope the maths is correct.

Always distilled water for everything.

You need a pair of tongs (the especially made ones) for each magnet, grab each one and twist. Wouldn't like to do it without, as you would likely crush your fingers.
