Have you tried a Lighting Shop ... they usually specialize in globes............ or Bunnings ?
My home UV lamp blew and I picked us a new globe at a local Lighting store.

Yesterday I bought a "mercury switch" from Jaycar. It looks like an led and mercury is sealed inside safely. Yr 11 Chemistry class is using it to see whether mercury conducts electricity. It will only work when mercury is at one end ( to form a circuit ) Cost $2.75 and can be used over and...

We have just done this prac with Yr 11 Senior Science - 2 classes - in incubator @ 30degreesC. Both classes got good results in 3 days.
I gave each group a large glass petri dish lined with baking paper to put their food samples on. Easy to clean up afterwards.

I busted my arse to clear our labs in order to hand over to builders by 2 Dec. Work was supposed to commence 4 January but hey...guess what....only a perimeter fence has been erected and no work commenced...yet ! 8O So I now have 15 junior classes and 10 senior classes to share 3 labs at this end of...
