yep, sorry. Set it to full. If you have it set to "own" it will only show what is in your manifest.

Re: Flame test kits
a couple of the teachers are complaining that their firework colours aren't spectacular enough. I give them paddle pop sticks that have been soaked overnight in 0.1M soltions and give them the wet sticks. I've found they work if wet and the little darlings don't BURN them. Which is what happened wit...

Re: Tortoise Skeleton Needs Cleaning. Advise Required.
Most display skeletons I've seen have been wired together in some way to stop them falling apart. It be still stinking because there are ligaments and cartilage still attached, (which is what is keeping it together) and these are decomposing. I've rewired bits of our skeletons on occaision but I'm c...

Re: Corrosive Cabinets
I have had our corrosive cabinet for only about 8 months. I actually got a lot of chemicals disposed of this year. I was checking out the corrosive cabinet today to start the chemical stocktake, and the thing is rusting quite badly. We did have quite a few 500mL bottles of sulphuric that had the lab...

Re: Flammable cupboards
If you have a licence to store flammable liquids and are a level b school page 19 says you can store 100L max in a lab block BUT
it also says on page 7 that up to 20L may be stored together without requiring a flammable cabinet.

Re: Fixing slinkies?
Another one bit the dust. I tried to fix them by bending and untwisting. It resembles a spring shape, but will not bounce back anymore. Maybe I'll try the hammer method.

Re: Ongoing practicals.
OK next question - for those of you who do not keep ongoing pracs in labs, but in the prep room - where the hell do you keep them all/ keep track of them? We used to keep them on a side bench in the lab, with labels, but now there are a lot less side benches, and not a lot of space to put them. So t...

Fixing slinkies?
Hi,
Is it possible to fix slinkies once they become kinked and mishappen?
A teacher suggested cutting the kinked end out and using the rest, but tin snips aren't doing it! Tough little things! I think I may be up for some new slinkies.

Re: ALERT Manganese Dioxide
Just saw this. Riskassess lists it as 7-12, no mention of oxidising agent or DG class. The chemsupply MSDS/SDS lists it as an oxidiser but no DG class, and says it is teratogenic and may cause fertility problems.

Re: Collection of Hazardous waste in NSW
Can anyone direct me to some regs that say how chemicals must be transported and disposed of? (eg licensed contractor, specified vehicle) I know its expensive but I want to make sure it is done safely.
