We just did a prac. which required acidified potassium permanganate. I made up .01M of KMnO₄ and just added a couple of drops of conc. sulfuric acid.Teacher was happy with the result.So there you go!! Would you call it bucket science? If so, it worked a treat!!!

Hi All Try a solution of oxalic acid.I always have a bottle made up ready. It can be used over and over again. It is great for rust or brown stains on glasswear(stains disappear right before your eyes!!) and I'm sure it will clean other things as well. For 0.5M use 2.7g in 500mls of distilled water....

What I have done in the past when ordering beakers of specific volume e.g. 500mls.I order the next volume up and order 600ml beakers.This will give you a reading for 500mls.
