Beryllium Metal

Hello everybody

I have had a request for Beryllium Metal, does anyone know where we might be able to source some.

I have searched the usual suppliers but they don't have any.

Thanks Cindy

Re: Lab designs

My only suggestion would be to have the prac benches around the outside and not divide the classroom in half like we did. Not practical at all.

Thank you so much. We were in the same position, I've just done one as soon as I found the instructions and it works like a charm.

Re: How are you purchasing chemicals & Groceries

Vickir We have the same problem here with grocery items. I told my teachers to give me there list of items on the Friday prior to prac and then I give that list to home ec. They get my stuff and we sort out the paperwork so that science stuff comes of their budget. Sounds complicated but works reall...

Re: Digital Oscilloscope

Thank you but I have done a search in this area.
We have bought a new cro because the only teacher that could get our old one to work has gone (he used a lot of paper clips) those of us left behind just could not fathom his method even after being shown for the last ten years! :D

Re: URGENT request for help!

I feel for you Kris. I can't believe the way people are treated in this day and age. I am very lucky, at the end of each term the teachers get the cleaning gear and get one of their classes to clean the room, they claim that "the kids make the mess so the kids clean the mess". Who am I to ...

Re: Wanted Amber Dropper Bottles

I tried earlier this year to buy the older style dropper to go with my dropper bottles and it was very hard to find them. All but 1 company have started selling new style and their droppers don't fit old bottles.
Will have a problem soon, I will have heaps of amber bottles and no droppers!

Who's paying for the return of the product. As most public schools are on very tight budget that's a cost that we don't need.

Re: How do you store ...

I use old tennis ball containers from PE. I put foam in the bottom, drill holes in the cap and store 8 in each container. I know exactly how many thermometers are there at a glance. they don't have to take the cap off just take one out and when finished pop it back in, works really well

I get everything from the local abattoirs, sometimes still quite warm. Thats really yukky, especially when you pick up a pluck and it gurgles and froth comes out the oesophagus!

Re: rat dissection

Hi guys
I buy my frozen rats from the local pet store. A lot of pet stores now carry them because of snake owners. Its worth looking into. You can't get pregnant rats however.
