Re: 0.0001M HCI

No...I Just made this up for one of my teachers experiment.. I diluted a 0.5m down to make it.. basically its about 3 drops into 999.98ml of water as i was making a Litre...the correct dosage for diluting a 0.5m is 0.2ml, but if you are making it straight from 32% HCL it is 0.009ml..Hope this helps

mtg wrote: 21 Jul 2020, 11:32 Good to know. What strength Phenolphthalein did you use and how much? I find it's so hard to get the right colour so it doesn't fade. usually make it too pink.
I usually use the crystals and it works well

Plastic dropper bottles

Hi everyone, Just a question for those who are using the STUHL plastic dropper bottles. Do you keep all chemicals in these or do you keep your iodine's,universal indicators and stains in amber dropper bottles?
TIA

Re: Luminol

I don't know if there is any shelf life for luminol, especially in a school setting. Might be different if you're trying to track down an offender who is on the run! Once made up, it has a very short shelf life of only about two hours. I have a good recipe for detecting blood if you need it. Hi Mer...
