Digital Oscilloscopes
What model digital oscilloscope do you have?
I 'm preparing a workshop on Oscilloscope use for a workshop at this year's Labcon and would like to compile a list of which brands and models of digital oscilloscopes schools have.
I will be most appreciative of your help in compiling the list.

Re: Wheatstone bridge
Probably the most common use of a Wheatstone Bridge in your environment will be a lot of the electronic balances you have. Many of them have a Tare cell, which is an aluminum block with the four resistors fitted in such a way that when you put something on the balance's pan it distorts the aluminum ...

Re: S23A Spectrophotometer error
Sadly they are the ones asking me!
I can't find anyone, in any country, who can answer the question after a week of asking.
Remember I'm that odd bloke who is not a Lab tech but rather the one who fixes stuff for the labbies.

Re: Microscope Service/Repairs
It has a few names, depending on which brand service handbook you look at.... index spring, stop spring, detent stop, and simply spring I prefer to call it the Detent stop spring, it seems to cover most bases! It would be improper to tout my own business on this forum so I humbly suggest you try a f...

It would be worth giving Industrial Equipment & Control Pty. Ltd. a call on (03) 9497 2555 if you haven't already - as a repairer they seem to try very hard to find old stuff for me!

Re: cuvette jammed in the spectrophotometer
It is not very hard to open up the S23A. First you have to remove the large wavelength selection knob - cant remember if it has a screw in the side or if it just pulls up. (removing the knob will not upset the calibration) Then you undo the screws underneath and lift the front so it opens from the f...

Re: Operation of All American Steam Sterilizer
Can those who regularly use the All American Autoclave Sterilizer tell me please what approximate number on the control dial their unit ends up being set at to maintain the pressure in the green zone. I had to reset the dial control on a unit recently and the factory provided instructions where a bi...

Re: Repairs to Science equipment
As a Victorian based repairer I've repaired many, but for some parts are impossible to get or very expensive to have made.
So what we need to know is the brand and the model number to be able to comment on the possibility.

Re: Incubators
May I offer a few comments to help you select. An oven produces temperatures typically ranging from +10°C to +200°C though some may only go to 110°C, while an incubator typically ranges from 5 to 60 °C. Ovens are suitable for applications where general warming or heating is required. Incubators are ...

Firstly I must disclose that I commercially repair these hotplates in Victoria. I have put the original instructions up at http://principlespractice.com.au/manuals.html The main thing to remember in using them is the MODE key is your main friend - step it though each mode each time you want to opera...

Re: Vacuum pump oil - what do you use?
As it looks like no-one wants to answer, I'll put my bit in. Firstly I should declare I service Vac pumps as part of my business supporting labbies here in Vic. First rule is use the oil recommended by the manufacturer - check the manual, check with the manufacturer/agent. Rule 2 - when rule 1 doesn...

Thanks Richard I repair many of these each year and the same output bridge PCB mount on the front panel design is across many of the IEC power supply models and also those of the ST907/LY907 range from China. There are a few tricks used by service guys like myself that are not shown to just anybody....

Ocker, what's the brand and model number of that which you describe as needing to separate the two boards? I can work out which one you are referring to.
