Senior Chem - Le Chatelier's Principle
Hello Chemtalk family, I was wondering if anyone could help me with an experiment/demonstration for Le Chatelier's Principle? My boss said he had done it years ago but couldn't exactly remember the details anymore, and being only new to this I haven't got the foggiest. Please can anyone help? Many t...

Hi everyone, I have just obtained a replacement belt for our older IEC model VDG by dealing directly with IEC. They have a website which has a section on technical information. Unfortunately the PDF document didn't work on VDG but they were able to send me a document on belt information such as a su...

Re: Pasteur experiment glass tubing
I was fortunate enough to have had the help of a lab technician to show me how to bend tubing (still wearing "L" plates)... but I never found out how to flame polish the ends of glass rods. Can anyone tell me how?
Thanks,
Lou P.

Re: Sintered Glass Gooch type Crucibles
Hi Ian and Louie, I, too, am only 18 months into this job and had no idea what these type of crucibles were until I was asked to price them late last year! Sintered glassware is used for the filtration of liquid and gases. It incorporates a porous glass disc as a filter media which is non-corrosive ...

Sintered Glass Gooch type Crucibles
Good Morning Chemtalk Family,
I was wondering if anyone could recommend a way to clean sintered glass gooch type crucibles of a porosity of 3? They were used to quantitatively determine the amount of sulfates in fertiliser.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Regards,
Lou P.

Re: Dishwashers
Good morning Richard! Thanks for your reply. Could I ask where did you get your dishwashers from and how did you get the racks specially for lab glassware? Do you know the amount of water used in a cycle? What do you use for powder? And (please excuse my ignorance) where does "Slartibartfast&qu...

Hi Everybody! I was wondering if any of you use a dishwasher and if so what sort is it and do you have any recommendations on what to look for and stuff like that. Hey Robbie, The phosphoric acid is part of the recipe given in "The Laboratory" for an extraction solution. I didn't read down far enough to see just the solution recipe. Regardless, CSIS rates DCPIP solution as a year 11-12 use only. I think the Starch/Iodine/Vit C experiment given by Mot...
