Re: Methyl red

Hi All, Its godd to hear the Methyl Red (Met Red) has worked for you. The good thing about Methyl red is that its is an Orgainic Dye. This means since it is a very long and robust carbon chain and almost has the same make-up of Vitamin D it can be stored for long periods of time. The solid particles...

Hi All, Hi Labbie, Thank you for your generosity, I have empty containers here and sooo many of them as well, but I am looking specifically for a container with the label on. I can see that this maybe a stab in the dark. Iff all else fails I guess I may need to generate a label. The thing is I have ...

Re: Lab Technician's Survey

Hi All, Teresa, Congratulations on the mamoth task you set out. The time is something that I know has been a major issue but it is great to see the Survey and behind the scenes come out and be very rewarding. Once again congratulations for you and your team working on this approach. Cheers, Robb.......

Searching Chemwatch

Hi All, Just to rid of the mystery with 1M Potassium Nitrate there is not difference in Hazardous condition for the 0.5M and 1M Potassium Nitrate Solutions. This is due to the fact that the 1M solution has only a 50g difference to that of the 0.5M solution in the SI unit of 1 litre. So the MSDS will...

Red Phosphorus experiment

Hi All,

A good way (Safe as well) is to demonstrate the Phosphorus is to scoop a little in a spoon of a deflagrating spoon and igniting it with a BB. Safe and effective way for demonstrating it.

Re: Who knew?

Hi All,

her technique which is just as easy is to used (if your school has one) an Ultrasonicator, simply fill the glass vessel with water, turn it on and then wait until it Automatically turns off and all is clean again.

Re: To lock or not to lock?

Hi All, To Lock or not to lock, I can see the occasion since the segregated room is not plainly visible, but I guess it takes one occasion to make things difficult as sometimes complacency kicks in. Look at things this way, if your prep room is in operation and you enter the Chemstore for retreval o...
