Hi
We have a phone in the upstairs staffroom. Can't always hear it ring when in the prep rooms. When I do hear it and start up the stairs... it stops!

Steel Wool

Hi All,

When I started at the school we had a couple of large 'spools' (or rolls) of steel wool. Supplies are now dwindling. Does anyone know where they may have been purchased from?
I can't seem to find them in my catalogues. Appreciate your help.

Yr 7 animals/bugs

Hi Everyone
Re: Yr 7 and animals
We have our nature walks and collecting bugs and examining them with microscopes and magnifying glasses. There is a collection of vertebrates and invertebrates to look at in class. I am interested to know what pracs you may do with Year 7 and bugs/animals.

Equipment:
2 jaffas (eyes), 1 mintie (middle section), 1 banana (tail end) per student
pipe cleaners (legs, antennae etc)

Students are asked to make a bug. Some students are very creative.
Lots of fun.

Our videos are going onto "Clickview". Data projector is connected to laptop (on its on mobile stand), and viewed in classroom via white screen. Less cumbersome than TV,video and DVD players moved from classroom to classroom.

Re: Take Away Food Testing

We had a happy meal (including coke) in a blender. Poured this into a measuring cylinder and let stand until the next class. Two layers of fats were found. Fat content could then be measured.
Am trying to attach photo.
