Expensive little exercise. If you have any others smeer Silicon grease round either end of taper.
If buying new voltameters, you will find they have teflon taps this solve problem

Investigating on web found it is made with motor oil I tried kneading it with some parrafin oil and it became smooth again not crumblly!
Sorry I've got to get back to Pl opps working with my plasterscine

Does anyone know what oil they use in plastercine, my big blocks were hard so put fanheater on to soften Then I got Side-tracked a lot of oil came out now I wish to rejuvenate and wondering what oil to use to soften?

If you decide to buy multimeters I have found best prices are at Jaycar od Dick Smith but remember to get overload protected or the kids will blow them also be aware that some have to be turned off or they flatten battery, others turn themselves off after 5 min with no reading when measuring high cu...

The rubber pipette fillers perish because kids suck chemicals up into bulb.
Every time they come back from class room make sure that you dry them out and don't leave them squeesed in, also I have a piece of 4mm rod that I can push the small glass marble into correct position

The best methord is have the teacher check the kids circuit before they are allowed to turn on! Replace the meters with digital multimeters that are overload protected but this can be a problem sometimes when values are not steady, you can see a needle pointer wavering but the digital meter will not...

You already realise most of our glass is non-recyclable (Pyrex) and that that is not would be contaminated.
I prise open sharpes container empty into old photocopy paper box when full put on lid tape well and place in industrial waste bin at back of school

than dissolve 2g in 150ml of Ammonia solution than add 50ml of ethanol.

Look at the cost of a crucible + the dangers involved, they are a disposable item, just scrub out and for badly stained ones break up for "porous pot"

The element is made of Nichrome that normal lead solder will not bond to, but you can buy a soft silver solder and special flux that will work.
I think this would be uneconomical if only using once.
Otherwise see if you can find a crimp lug that will clamp element to terminal post.
