Dear Rowyrow,
thanks for your reply. A call to their Helpdesk show us how to navigate around their website. (Sigh) Why do they have to change something that was working fine??????????
It is still not specific enough for us though. eg.10M sulfuric acid, cobalt choride papers......
Cheerts,
Robyn

ChemFFX
Hi All, it's been a long time since I have been able to view this wonderful site and a quick search did not illuminate me. Chemtalk seems to have evolved into ChemFFX whose system does not allow us to print labels even close to what we are used to. eg: no molarities, everyday chemicals, only brand n...

Hi All,
I can't believe I am asking this but we have been asked for conductive glass by a student.
ie glass that conducts electricity.
I have never heard of such a thing. Has anyone else??

Re: Chemicals in Cars
Hi All,
I was under the impression that H2O2 cannot be sealed tightly as the gas needs to vent. Our hydrogen peroxide comes in bottles with a covered hole for venting. Do others have the same??
Have a great and well-deserved Easter break!!

Re: Tert-butyl chloride.... where do I get it from?
Hi Kel,
it's a strange one. A quick look at Chemwatch came up with butyl chloride (1-chlorobutane) but it seems to be nasty stuff used for years 11-12....but very toxic. Good luck in your search.

Re: Rusty Incubator
Hi Rosalie,
we had this problem after a couple of chemistry teachers decided to use the incubator and the oven for evaporating acids from something. A few stern words solved the problem.
I thought ovens and incubators were for evaporating water only?!?

Thanks Noona, for the advice, it sounds good to me. Nooo, not going to St Marys, I am minding the fort while my workmates attend instead. Bio-plastic embedding
Hi All,
we have some specimens embedded in bio-plastic and they have become scratched enough so that the animal can't be seen distinctly.
Does anyone know a reliable way to fix this problem?

Re: What water distiller/deioniser should I buy?
Hi Rosalie, the distilled water comes in 20 litre plastic containers each with a tap. Delivery is free if we recycle 3 at a time. It's nice to have the back-up of 2 spares. They are taken away to be refilled when empty. At prac exam time, we use lots of distilled water. I could not ever interest the...

Re: What water distiller/deioniser should I buy?
Hi,
we have never looked back after buying in our distilled water commercially. It costs about $11 for 20 litres. Saves so much tap water - we once measured the water running to waste, 97 litres for 1 litre of distilled water.....
