Re: Multimeters
Interesting he says more durable?. I have the same amm/voltmeters for 10 years I've been here and haven't had may break at all but I have 6 cheap multimeters that have the ammeter broken. Maybe I should just get more of the old analogue ones.

Multimeters
Do your classes use multimeters instead of amm/voltmeters? If so where did you get them? I have now got half of mine that the ammeter no longer works on. They are between 4 and 6 years old. So frustrating. Not sure if I should replace them or not?

Thanks for replying. I thought it might be a long shot.
Hmm.. Ok I have no idea what the ones we have are. They seem like a mish mash of different kinds. I will have to check before ordering.

Re: Risk Assess - Legal Issue with signing
Just reading back through the Risk assess document and found this: It is recommended that your school obtain copies of ISO Standard 31000:2009 and the Risk Management Guidelines HB 436:2004, and that persons carrying out risk assessments be familiar with them. Copies of these documents may be obtain...

Re: Risk Assess - Legal Issue with signing
Why don't you go back to Risk assess and ask them if they have a copy of the standards you can access?? They must know what they are if they are quoting them!?

Re: Chemical Store "odours"
When I first started working here our chem store was very toxic. There was a huge amount of rust on the shelves and condensation on the floors. Over the years I have replaced the shelves and the exhaust system. This resolved most of the issues with the odours. The flammables cupboard is still very f...

Re: Storing Alligator wires
I have a board about a meter long mounted on the wall that has slots sawed into it. The connecting leads hang off that. You can fit about 10 per slot. I store the alligator clips in a separate container. Works well.
