Re: Ordering for Practical Lessons
Good morning all you wonderful labbies. I have reached the end of my patience with my staff thinking they can order pracs at 9pm and expecting me to have all the equipment and chemicals ready for 1st period. I have installed the cutoff programme and now waiting for the sh@#t to hit the fan when they...

Re: printers
Luckily I have a colour HP printer in my prep room. Before this I had to go down two floors to the staff room and pray that my lazy staff had actually put paper in the printer and there wasn't a paper jamb. Think I was given one to shut me up.....squeaky wheel. My paper comes out of our budget but t...

Re: Banned from 1 NOV
Thanks for all the information relating to the plastics ban. I am a DOE school that has NOT been told about this. I brought it up to the powers that be and they totally disregarded anything I had to say. I now have decided that I won't purchase any more plastics but will use up the products I have a...

Hi Rosalie,
We only have cloth aprons that all students use. They get washed usually six monthly and I replace them as needed.

Re: Risk Assessment
Hi guys, Hope your year is better than the last couple. Just a heads up with riskassess putting the wrong chemical equations on labels. It has been frantic here with assessment exams and luckily the teachers have picked up errors. From memory it was silver nitrate and sodium carbonate. Don't know of...

Re: Let’s talk fridges!
Good morning RosalieI, I always think it's best to go as big as you can afford and fit in your prep. room space. There always seems to be a prac that needs to be cooled down and the teachers put the experiments into the fridge, not to mention the fruit and vegetables that are bought and then need to...

Storing electrical leadsl
Good morning brains trust, Hope the new year is treating you all well. I have been asked to find a better way to store electrical leads. The teachers are sick of the leads being tangled and then breaking when the students try to separate them. At the moment they are put into large sandwich bags. Tha...

Just had this company( edusupplies) out to service our microscopes and I can only sing their praises. They were totally professional ,very approachable and very efficient.
I would recommend them to any school that needs a service on their microscopes.
