Re: Thymolphthalein
Thanks. I shall try and deter the teacher who wants it. In the too hard basket and really not necessary for his 'playing' around.

Thymolphthalein
Does anyone use Thymolphthalain? I have been asked to purchase some as an indicator. It's not in the CSIS appendix 4 so I have no idea of user codes. Is it worth having?

Fibreweb, could you please send me your recipe for Hay Infusions. I have very little success and have tried a variety of different ways.

Re: Microscope repair / training
I organised for Rod from Edusupplies to come to Queanbeyan and run a microscope maintenance course for labbies in this area. He was great. His company also do servicing of microscopes and sell them. You can find him at www.edusupplies.com.au or call 1300661607. He's happy to go to rural areas

Re: Chemical Storage
Does anyone know where to source the elusive chemical storage trays that are referred to in CSIS? Serrata don't stock them, Livingstone don't seem to know if theirs are chemical safe.

Re: New Prep Rooms
We have just had our prep room and 2 labs refurbed (finished last term) and I'm still waiting on proper shelving for the chem store. They have put in very flimsy coated shelving units with movable shelves. Is this normal? It doesn't seem secure enough to me. What have other schools been issued with?...

There's one coming up in Queanbeyan for those down south on Staff dev. day term 3.
Also I have organised a microscope maintenance course on 2 June at Queanbeyan High if any one wishes to join us. 2 spots left. Call the school if interested.

Did you actually purchase this brand or an Australian alternative?
They are wonderful!
I'm at a school without a refit (old) and the rock drawers are sooo heavy that I can't even open them.
