Re: text book issue
Ours are issued from the library too. It's their job to divy them out at the start of the year & collect them at the end. We are lucky! :) And I spose not all schools will want to go that way, so....... I think if you are going to charge a deposit then it has to be enough to encourage them to re...

Re: Stick Insect egg request
Thanks Ev. That might be it! I have them on the sand in the same container as they grow (then they get put in an airy large one). I've been so worried about them getting buried but obviously I shouldn't. I recently started to let the leaves all accumulate on the bottom too. Thank you!

Hey guys, I'm having all sorts of trouble getting my stickies to live! When they do hatch, they keep getting their legs caught in their egg cases. I'm not sure if I'm the incompetent one or if it's them!! Any ideas? I was thinking that maybe I need to keep them more moist? I was also wondering if an...

One teacher asked me for my phone number so if he needed to know what stock we had over the weekend he didn't have to go into work!!
Another once wanted to know if we had any ovary boards. After a little 'Men from Mars Women from Venus' conversation I worked out he meant emery!!

Can you reheat Sodium tetraborate?
Hey gurus!
I recently made some borax (sodium tetraborate) star crystals & want to make more but I was wondering if it was possible to re-heat the borax solution instead of starting again & wasting it???
Any thoughts??
Cheers, Kel

Re: Biodiversity month display
Wow thanks guys! See you just proved my guru comment right!!
Will put the thinking cap on over the weekend & set up next week. I'm loving your ideas & website directions though.
Any others are still more than welcome - there's enough karma to go around.

Hi Everyone, This is a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONGGGG shot but thought I'd try! When I go on pracs for my teaching course our school needs someone to do my 10 hour job - I work Thursdays normally & the rest of the time is here & there. I'm sure they would be pretty flexible with when you ...

Contact Lenses
Hi guys, just a quick query. I know that contact lenses are very dangerous with chemicals. Sooooo do any of your schools ban students from wearing them during pracs? Or is it just suggested they don't? Also when kids have ordinary glasses - do you make them wear safety glasses? I know you should but...
