Re: Stocktake programs
Hi All It is a good question applicable to most labtechs. I think that even if available, any readily available commercial labstock software might not be perfectly suitable for everyone due to different level and type of requirements. For simple requirements as discussed Excel or similar spreadsheet...

Re: potassium permanganate stain removal
Hi Everyone, dilute Solution (concentration does not matter - approx. 0.1 M will be sufficient) of Iron (II) ammonium sulfate will help to remove any stain of KMnO4. I have been using it for long time without any problem to clean the burettes stained with KMnO4 after titration. The used solution can...

Re: Tollen's reagent
My reply is late however I hope it might be useful and relevant for some. I find it is easier to organise the tollen's reagent preparation by year-11/12 teacher/student in laboratory as follows- Prepare and supply dropper bottles of 1. 0.1 M Silver nitrate solution 2. 2 M sodium hydroxide solution 3...

Re: Agar-phenopthalein jelly
This is the recipe I compiled after experience and is used for surface Area:Volume experiment. It works well. --------------------------------- Procedure: Get the required number of containers (e.g. takeaway containers) for agar jelly to be prepared. Calculation: 1. Fill the takeaway container (whic...

Re: 2M copper sulfate
Hi All, I came across this request last year for 2 M CuSO4 Solution. If you look at solubility data on http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/Solubility+table At 20 deg C it is 32 gms/100 ml and at 30 deg C 37.8gms/100 ml. Now looking at molecular weight and solubility data I think it is possible...
